There was a great deal riding on Halo Infinite, but its fair to say that the game has, for the most part, lived up to expectations in more ways than one. Its single player campaign and free-to-play multiplayer component have both been received well by critics and audiences alike, while consistent events, updates, fixes, and more have kept the player base for the latter active and engaged.
Unsurprisingly, that’s reflected in the game’s commercial performance as well. Microsoft has announced that across its multiplayer component and the single player campaign, Halo Infinite has amassed over 20 million players since launch. With the game being available on Game Pass and its multiplayer component being free-to-play, there isn’t clarity on exactly how much the shooter has sold, but Microsoft has confirmed that the game has enjoyed the biggest ever launch in Halo history.
With 343 Industries remaining focused on improving the game further and adding to it with upcoming seasons, Halo fans will be hoping that the shooter keeps its early momentum going.
Halo Infinite is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
