Halo Infinite Season 5 Reckoning_02

Halo Infinite saw is fair share of post-launch struggles, thanks to less-than-satisfactory support from developer 343 Industries, but of late, the tide seems to be turning for the first person shooter. Season 5 of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer post-launch content launched in October, and its meaty additions to the game have brought about an increase in its player numbers.

In fact, as reported by Windows Central, it’s currently tracking above Destiny 2 in Xbox’s charts for the most played games in the United States, with Halo Infinite being ranked No. 16, and Destiny 2 placed right behind it at No. 17.

Halo Infinite has reportedly surpassed 30 million lifetime players.

While Halo Infinite is certainly pulling in more players than it has in past months, it’s worth noting that Destiny 2 has conversely been struggling on that front. It was recently reported that its underperformance contributed to Bungie’s recent round of layoffs, which saw about 100 people losing their jobs at the Sony-owned studio. Reportedly, pre-orders for Destiny 2: The Final Shape are also tracking below internal expectations.
