Even before the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta went live, 343 Industries received plenty of criticism for only awarding XP through challenges. Fast forward to its early release and Battle Pass progression was found to be too slow. In order to alleviate this, the developer has updated matchmade games to now award 50 XP each (via the “Play 1 Game” Daily Challenge).

It’s also fixed several Challenges which weren’t tracking progress including Ultra Tech, Heat of the Moment, It Bears Repeating and Jorge Would Be Proud. XP Boosts also last for one hour instead of 30 minutes (though the in-game tool-tip still needs to be updated to reflect the same). And while all these changes have reset progress on any active Daily and Weekly Challenges, all players signing in from November 23rd to 30th will receive the Sigil Mark VII Visor (the Ultimate Reward for this week) for free.

While these changes do help in progression, they’re still a “first step” until 343 Industries comes up with a better solution. We’ll have to wait for further updates in the meantime. Halo Infinite’s campaign is currently slated to release on December 8th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
