Halo Infinite

Halo custodians 343 Industries have been surprisingly honest about the direction they’re taking with Halo InfiniteHalo 5: Guardians wasn’t very well received by fans, and seemed to lose focus of what it was that endeared the series to millions, and apparently, the developers themselves know that all too well. They’ve been taking steps toward making sure that that doesn’t happen with the upcoming Infinite, such as recently having appointed Microsoft veteran Justin Robey in an entirely new position they created just for this purpose- Director of Player Voice.

And Robey is already saying all the right things. Recently, during a stream held by 343 Industries (via ComicBook.com), Robey talked about how the studio is approaching Halo Infinite, saying that they’re ensuring that they do not repeat the mistakes that were made with Halo 5Infinite, apparently, will be “awesome for the fans”, but will also simultaneously be striking a balance with being approachable for newcomers to the series, or those who might not be too heavily invested.

“Halo is one of those franchises that we have a lot of players who are probably going to come back when we release Halo Infinite and we just want to make sure as it gets in there that people aren’t lost, which is one of the things that people complain about with Halo 5,” said Robey. “So it’s [about] making sure that there’s enough meat, and [that it’s] awesome for the fans, and that at the same time it’s approachable for people who are coming back in.”

Halo Infinite is due out for the Xbox One and PC, but it doesn’t currently have a release date.
