Halo Infinite Will “Prominently” Feature Natural Landscapes, Rewarding Exploration – O’Connor

343 Industries' Frank O'Connor also says the developer knows which Halo Ring the game is set on.

Halo Infinite

343 Industries has been plugging away at Halo Infinite, its next big entry into the Halo universe. While it was confirmed at E3 2018, the sequel still seems a ways off. Any new details would be pivotal at this point though (aside from reassurances about microtransactions), and it seems that franchise director Frank O’Connor has a few to spare.

Over on Twitter, between fictional movie pitches, O’Connor was asked for some new information in exchange for corn-dogs (don’t ask). He responded, “The snow in our Xmas card of the E3 scene is temporary. The water will be varied. Natural landscapes will feature prominently. We know which Ring it is. Exploration will be rewarded.”

To be fair, that is quite a bit of information. Rumours have placed the next game on Zeta Halo, known for its natural landscapes, and it seems there will be incentive to explore the sandbox. We know that the game will utilize a brand new game engine called “SlipSpace” and will focus much more on Master Chief following the scattered focus of Halo 5: Guardians. We know the sequel will support the Xbox One X, too, but details of its release date have yet to be divulged.
