It Takes Two

With three years having passed since It Takes Two came out, questions about developer Hazelight Studios’ next game are growing progressively louder, and it seems like we might not have to wait too long to get word on what that next game will be. Many speculated that Hazelight would unveil its new project at one of the several summer showcases that recently happened, and though that did not happen, it seems like an announcement is coming up soon nonetheless.

At least that’s what teases by the studio itself seem to be teasing. Based on Twitter activity by Hazelight as well as founder and director Josef Fares, the studio’s office was recently visited by Geoff Keighley, producer and host of The Game Awards, Summer Game Fest, and Gamescom Opening Night Live. “Good s**t is happening this year,” Fares wrote in a tweet with a picture of himself and Keighley in the Hazelight offices. Potentially, the indication here is that Hazelight Studios’ next game could be announced at one of Keighley’s events.

Gamescom Opening Night Live, which is coming up in August, is the next show to be hosted by Keighley, so perhaps that’s where we’ll see the It Takes Two and A Way Out developer’s next project. If not that, could we be looking at an announcement at The Game Awards this December?

Haelight has previously teased that whatever its next game is is going to be unveiled this year, so we probably do not have to wait too long for those details.
