Helldivers 2 continues to receive updates and patches at a consistent pace, with Arrowhead Game Studios having kept up a healthy cadence of support for the co-op shooter. What else the studio has in store for the game in the coming weeks and months is anyone’s guess, though it seems players may have discovered at least one of the stratagems that the developer might be working on behind the scenes.
Shared by dataminer Tier5NPC on Reddit, it seems like Helldivers 2 might receive a stratagem called Orbital Illumination Flare at some point. Allegedly lasting for about 20-25 seconds a roughly half-minute cooldown, the stratagem, true to its name, is capable of lighting up dimly lit areas. At the same time, however, it also attracts enemies, though players may also find ways to use this to their advantage- such as using the stratagem as a way to distract foes.
It’s worth pointing out, as always with datamining leaks, that there’s no guarantee that this content will see the light of day, even if Arrowhead Game Studios has worked on it, or that, if it does, it will be the same as the version seen in this leak. How long it’ll be before we get official confirmation of the stratagem coming to the game – if that does happen – is anyone’s guess.
