With Helldivers 2 passing its first weekend without server issues, Arrowhead Game Studios is moving on to improvements and future content. Based on datamining done by Reddit user stodal, it seems that several unused assets and features, including new Stratagems, are allegedly already included.
“DropoffCombatWalker” seemingly refers to the Exosuit, confirmed for post-launch, but there are other Stratagems like “BugThumper,” “MedicBackpack”, “DisplacementBackpack”, “MiniMissiles” and even “Nuke” mentioned. It also seems that the Illuminate faction from Helldivers 1 is coming sooner rather than later.
Several enemy types like the Illusionist, Obelisk, and Outcast are mentioned. However, there are also allegedly some new unit types including the Adept, who can call for allies; the Pathfinder; and the Summoner. We’ll have to wait for more details and an official announcement.
Helldivers 2 is available for PS5 and PC and recently crossed 450,000 concurrent players on Steam. Arrowhead is working on a new roadmap following the game’s explosive success. Stay tuned for updates, and check out our review here.
