Arrowhead Game Studios has released a statement, announcing that it is actively working on fixing problems faced by the PC release of Helldivers 2. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), a statement by game director Mikael Eriksson says that the studio has made a patch for Helldivers 2, which is set to come to PC first, followed by the PS5 version of the game.
“We’ve made a patch, and are about to start playing alongside you to check it works as intended,” says Eriksson in the statement. “If it’s a success, we’ll trigger a hotfix and get it out to the Steam community first, then roll it out to PS5 players as quickly as we can.”
Having just come out, the PC version of Helldivers 2 has seen quite a bit of criticism from PC players. At the time of writing, the game’s average Steam reviews are giving it a “Mixed” rating. While many of the Steam reviews praise the title’s gameplay and other aspects, matchmaking issues, as well as severe bugs that stop players from playing the game seem to be the main reasons for negative reviews.
Despite the “Mixed” rating, however, Helldivers 2 has seen quite a successful launch on PC. On launch day, the game saw more than 57,000 concurrent players on Steam. At the time of writing, the game currently sits at an all-time peak of 67,809 concurrent players, making it one of the best PC releases for Sony games on PC.
Helldivers 2 is available on PC and PS5. The game is also set to get support in the form of updates bringing new enemies, biomes, objectives and more. There are also plans for free story updates.
