Arrowhead Game Studios has released a new trailer for Helldivers 2, this time around revealing a brand-new vehicle coming to the co-op shooter – the TD-110 Maelstrom tank. The trailer showcases the tank as if it were an advertisement for an in-universe company known as X-UDE, complete with a narrator talking about the features of the new vehicle.
“Here at X-UDE, we have but one dream: healthy profit margins and personal defense for all. Because every Super Earth citizen has the right to defend their family, without sacrificing the comforts Managed Democracy affords. That’s why we’re working with the Helldivers to secure the resources we need to make that dream a reality. Together, we can bring personal defense home. X-UDE. A tank in every driveway. Luxury in every detail.”
The TD-110 Malestrom tank’s arrival in Helldivers 2 is part of a larger update that brings with it a number of changes based on community feedback, like enemies no longer targeting unoccupied vehicles, career stats getting better tracking for kills across mines, vehicles, drones, and backpacks, and fixes for issues on arctic planets.
The update also brought with it adjustments to enemy spawns to make them more balanced between separated Helldivers on missions, changes to the Evacuate High-Value Assets missions, and general balance changes across a host of weapons. Level design is seeing some changes as well, with more randomized loot locations and weapons, new random groups for loot like ammo, health kits, grenades, and weapons, and 10 more common samples that can be collected throughout a level.
Along with the update, Helldivers 2 now also has a brand-new Premium Warbond, dubbed Ironclad Democracy. The Warbond brings with it a host of new gear designed around sending more soldiers to the frontline. New weapons include the AR-11 Arbitrator (assault rifle) primary, the GL-15 Evictor primary (shotgun), the P-34 Breacher secondary (pistol), the G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker throwable, and the G-8 Immolation throwable.
When it comes to armor, Ironclad Democracy brings with it the BFM-16 Tanker light armor and the BFM-220 Ironclad heavy armor. Both sets are equipped with the Blunt-Force Mitigation passive that makes the wearers more resistant to being knocked off their feet when under attack, while also reducing damage taken from impacts and collisions by 30 percent. Along with this, the passive also provides players with a higher armor rating.
The weapons are joined by a pair of new boosters – the Surplus EAT Allocation and Integrated Extinguishers. The former gives players two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank Strategem per mission, giving a full squad one single-use rocket launcher each. The latter reduces the time to extinguish flames when you accidentally set teammates on fire.
On the cosmetics side of things, the Ironclad Democracy Warbond brings with it two new capes – the Standard of Rapid Evacuation and the Shroud of The Juggernaut, along with the new Helmet Durability Check emote, the Standard of Rapid Evacuation and the Shroud of The Juggernaut player cards, the Treadhead title, and exclusive patterns for tanks – Verdant camouflage, Glacial polymer, and Executive onyx.
Helldivers 2 is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
