About 18 months after its mega-successful launch on PS5 and PC, Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 is finally available on Xbox Series X/S. Retailing for $39.99, it arrives with cross-platform play but sadly, no cross-progression.
The other notable addition is the new Legendary Warbond, which crosses over with Bungie’s Halo 3: ODST (though they’re referred to as Obedient Democracy Support Troopers). It offers multiple Halo weapons, from the classic M6 sidearm to the MA5C assault rifle and M90A shotgun, alongside two armor sets. Various cosmetics, such as the “Mean Green” patterns for the FRV, Shuttle, Hellpod, and Exo-Suit, are also included.
The downside is that all this will set you back by 1,500 Super Credits, which Arrowhead feels is a fair trade given the increased amount of content. As for how the title ended up on Xbox Series X/S at all, the developer says you can direct all credit to PlayStation.
