Hitman 3

IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 is one of the major new releases of next year, and a recent ESRB rating provides some details on the kinds of assassination that players will perform. The usual pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles and melee weapons are noted. Then there’s stealth, either through stabbing and strangling or via poisoned drinks, disguises, etc.

However, there will also be different, gruesome ways to dispose of corpses like a woodchipper and compactor. You can expect a large amount of blood-splatter, earning the game an easy “Mature” rating. The rating also notes “in-game purchases” which likely refers to expansions and other digital goodies that players can get.

Hitman 3 is out on January 20th 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia (with a Switch release playable via the cloud coming later). Ray-tracing has been confirmed for the title but will arrive in a post-launch update later next year. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
