Two story missions, 40+ challenges and more await.

Hitman developer IO Interactive is now independent and it’s first step is to release Hitman’s The Playground for free across all platforms. You can check out the announcement trailer for the same below.

And no, this isn’t for a limited time. It will be free permanently on PC through Steam, PS4 and Xbox One. The Playground is essentially the first location of the game, taking place in an ICA Facility and containing two story missions with cut-scenes, two Escalation contracts, 17 Achievements and Trophies and over 40 Challenges. Players can also access the Contracts Mode missions created by others, completely free.

If that weren’t enough, the full season of Hitman will be on sale for 60 percent off throughout the week. Pick up the game after completing The Playground and your progress will transfer over to the full game.

A second season for Hitman is in development so expect to hear more information on that in the coming months.
