While Warner Bros. is reportedly preparing to share a new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, some rumors have claimed that the action RPG could face another delay. Apparently there are development troubles and a potential slip into 2023 is possible. However, there are some – like AccountNGT on Twitter – who don’t believe this to be case.
Known for leaking the first screenshot of Star Wars Eclipse before its official announcement, they said that, “The only thing that could delay Hogwarts Legacy to 2023 is the amount of games that will be released in the same period.” This isn’t to say that a delay is impossible but implies that development is going according to schedule.
Furthermore, Warner Play Brazil tweeted about the publisher’s major game releases for 2022 and included Hogwarts Legacy in the line-up. Again, this doesn’t mean a delay can’t occur at the last minute (which has been the case with titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Dying Light 2 Stay Human in the past few years). But the current plan seems to be a release for this year.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details along with an official release date from Warner Bros. in the coming months.
