Hogwarts Legacy

It’s been a while since Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment offered many new details or gameplay on Hogwarts Legacy after its delay to 2022. Along with Portkey Games and Avalanche Software, Sumo Digital is also confirmed to be working on the open world action RPG. The company revealed on Twitter that two of its studios, Sumo Nottingham and Red Kite Games, were involved and that they’d “been hard at work.”

Sumo Digital has been involved with a number of high profile games throughout the years, including Sackboy: A Big Adventure and the recent Forza Horizon 5 (though it also developed the underwhelming Hood: Outlaws and Legends). Sumo Nottingham was set up in 2016 while Red Kite Games was acquired in 2019. The latter was a work-for-hire studio that provided services to various game companies.

As for Hogwarts Legacy, it’s currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Slated for release next year, Warner Bros. has suggested that it could release sometime after April 2022. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
