The design of Nova Prospekt was based on that of an existing prison, the infamous Alcatraz prison
For those of you who played Half Life 2 would have noticed that Nova Prospect was designed like a prison where a lot of tortures and deaths of the captured rebellion folk occurred. However the inspiration for Nova Prospect was designed after the infamous Alcatraz Prison. For those of you who are unaware, Alcatraz was a maximum high-security Federal prison on Alcatraz Island, and housed some of the world’s famous and infamous criminals.
