When Judith Mossman was transferring an important message she was cunning enough to encrypt the Borealis photographs, coordinates, blueprints and hailing frequencies within her message. However Isaac Kleiner decrypted the message and to his horror and amazement uncovered footage of the ship. However Eli was dead against using anything from the ship as he was still haunted by memories of the Black Mesa Incident and not wanting repeat of a second Seven Hour War. He wanted Freeman to destroy the Borealis at all costs.
