NetherRealm Studios, made up of employees who worked on the latest Mortal Kombat, have announced that their upcoming super hero fighting game Injustice will also be releasing on iOS along with Xbox 360, Wii U and PS3.

Siliconera reported on seeing the game at this year’s Game Developer Conference while conducting an interview with NetherRealms. The app itself is reportedly being developed in-house; given how NetherRealms has experience with iOS titles, its last one being Batman: Arkham City Lockdown, we’re sure they know what they’re doing.

There’s no word yet on the iOS release, though Injustice will be arriving for consoles in North America on April 16th and in Europe on April 19th.

Injustice features super-heroes and villains from the DC Universe, most especially the new DC 52. It’s been developed using the Unreal Engine and plays very much like Mortal Kombat with finishing moves but also adds in wildly destructive environments.
