For a while, it was looking like Sega’s Judgment was facing a premature death, after it was taken off sale in Japan and its western release was put off following actor Pierre Taki – who plays a prominent role in the game – getting arrested in a drug bust. However, true to the game’s producer’s word, Judgment will indeed be releasing in June as was originally planned.
Sega will be working around the controversies surrounding Taki by removing his likeness from the game, with character Kyohei Hamura bearing the face of someone who is not, well, Taki. To reflect the same, Sega have put out a new announcement trailer for the game- which is really more of a re-announcement, but with Taki’s face and likeness nowhere to be seen. Hamura’s character is mentioned a great deal (which is unavoidable, given how instrumental he is to the story) but the character himself hasn’t been shown in the trailer.
Take a look below. Judgment launches in the west exclusively on the PS4 on June 25. It’s been out in Japan since December, and clearly, it’s been quite successful- read more on that through here.
