King's Quest

Geoff Keighley has announced that the newest King’s Quest will be revealed at The Game Awards this Friday, December 5th. It will be one of the dozen world premieres to appear at the show and will showcase what developer The Odd Gentlemen has been up to with the game.

Along with a look at the new game, there will also be a tribute to Roberta and Ken Williams who founded Sierra and helped push forward the adventure genre. King’s Quest was one of the major franchises under their banner.

King’s Quest had a long and illustrious history in the old days but the latest game in the series was delayed for several years, passes off from one studio to another before Activision picked up the rights.

The new King’s Quest will be an adventure game but will move away from the point-and-click mechanics of the old games. We’ll keep our eyes open for when it debuts to stay tuned for more information.
