Kojima Seeking to Remake Metal Gear Solid Using Fox Engine

Now this is certainly interesting. According to an interview with Game Reactor, Metal Gear Solid creator and director Hideo Kojima is planning to remake the first MGS title using the Fox Engine, which has been introduced with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

As of now, Kojima is searching for a development studio that can adapt the game using the Fox Engine, and even update some of the mechanics like Silicon Knights did with Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on the Nintendo GameCube. Given the subtle and overt evolutions the formula has undergone in years, it’s pretty much the same as a new game. Except, it’s still Metal Gear Solid – one of the greatest games ever made.

Though there have been rumblings of Kojima wanting to remake the first game, this is the first time the director has revealed active plans of doing so. Of course, that Metal Gear Solid motion picture is alive and well also.
