Capcom debuted a new trailer for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, an action strategy title with aesthetics inspired by Shinsekai: Into the Depths and Okami, showcasing more of the gameplay loop. It also confirmed that it would launch in 2024 and arrive on day one for Game Pass. However, it could be coming sooner than expected.

Speaking to Xbox Wire, director Shuichi Kawata confirmed it’s “currently in the final stages of development.” “This game features a very distinct blend of action and strategy genres and takes strong inspiration from various elements of Japanese culture.

“With all of that, we’re excited (and maybe a little nervous…in a good way!) to have everyone experience this game. The team is working hard to be able to deliver the best experience this game can offer, so we hope you look forward to it.”

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will launch for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It sees players guiding a Maiden towards a gate where demons emerge. Before that, they can purge the land of corruption, rescue and enlist villagers to help in their defense, and much more. The battle against the gate begins at night, culminating in the Maiden sealing it.

The title will receive more details (and perhaps gameplay footage) at Capcom Highlights Day 1, which airs today at 3 PM PT. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates.
