Layers of Fear

The free demo for Layers of Fear, the upcoming horror title from Bloober Team and Anshar Studio, is now live for PC via Steam until May 22nd, 3 PM PT. A release date for the game is also confirmed – it’s out on June 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In a press release, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said, “With the power of Unreal Engine 5, we’ve been able to create a game that visually surpasses our previous works, delivering an unforgettable journey into the minds of tormented artists. We are excited for both new and returning players to jump in.”

Layers of Fear collects the entire series and its DLC into a brand-new narrative. It sees a new playable character, the Writer, traveling to a Lighthouse and her story intertwining with the Artist and the Actor from Layers of Fear 1 and 2. There’s also The Final Note, a DLC which provides the perspective of the Artist’s wife from the first game.

With Unreal Engine 5 and technologies like Lumen, the title supports HDR, ray tracing and 4K resolution for stunning visuals. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks, and check out this extensive gameplay walkthrough with the Writer. You can also check out the current PC requirements.
