Capcom has announced that the Spark Unlimited-developed Lost Planet 3 has been delayed. Instead of releasing at June end for the world, the game will now coming this August for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Lost Planet 3 serves as a prequel to the first game as players return to the frigid wasteland that is E.D.N III. The game has a more open ended feel as players can opt to pursue the main story or take part in side quests. In fact, the campaign is reported to be returning to the adventuring roots of the first game rather than the sequel’s cooperative heavy emphasis.
You’ll be able to control Rigs and battle the Akrids and explore the origin of E.D.N. III in all earnestness. As of now, no reason has been given for the delay but we’re guessing it’s to further polish the game.
Lost Planet 3 will release on August 27th for North America and August 30th for Europe.
