EA Sports has revealed the first trailer for Madden NFL 25, showcasing game engine footage and highlighting some of its new features. Check it out below.

Some more interesting additions include physics-based tackling for more hard-hitting impacts, new catch mechanics (including desperate one-handed catches) and branching animation combos. Contextual reactions are also improved, and new Signature Animations bring each player to life. Franchise Mode returns, and players can employ new Playbooks.

Several other features are quickly glossed over, including Hot Route updates, new mini-games, updated stadiums, a new switch stick for using multiple defenders and more. Of course, things like the new FieldSENSE and BOOM Tech won’t be available for previous-gen consoles.

Madden NFL 25 launches on August 16th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey as the cover star. Head here for more details on the Standard and Deluxe Editions.
