Hangar 13’s Mafia 3 is in full hype mode now that the new story trailer has arrived and a release date has been confirmed. Will it be a similar situation to Mafia 2 though? According to studio director Haden Blackman, there’s plenty to do in the game and replayability is encouraged.

Speaking to GameSpot, Blackman said, “We’re not talking about the exact hours yet, I’m a completionist too. It is hours and hours and hours of content. I hope that people are encouraged to replay and see things that they didn’t see before. Hopefully people go back and look for those little hidden gems.”

One such “gem” was witnessing a gang execute an individual “in a pretty dramatic fashion.” This is something you may not see the first time around.

As Blackman says, “I wanted to build games that really tried to push the notion that the players co-author in the experience. We have that tag line for Hanger 13, that every player’s story is unique. That’s definitely something we want to try and push for everything that we do.”

Mafia 3 is out on October 7th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
