Two weeks ago, Hangar 13 announced a delay for Mafia: Definitive Edition for the sake of polish and to make it the “very best it can be for all of our fans worldwide.” It did promise an extended gameplay reveal for the title on July 22nd. In a recent tweet, the developer confirmed that it would release the footage at 8 AM PT/4 PM BST.
A full remake as opposed to a remaster, Mafia: Definitive Edition features revamped textures and character models along with improved effects and lighting. Hangar 13 has noted that Lost Heaven, the main setting, will be “more fun” to drive around in. Streets will also have more NPCs roaming, giving the impression of liveliness.
Gameplay-wise, fans can expect the story, missions and characters from the original game to be expanded (like Sarah, Tommy’s girlfriend, who will be getting more screen time). There will also be more difficulty options, including one that allows players to enjoy the story without too much worry. Mafia: Definitive Edition is currently slated to release on September 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
