It’s always great to watch a trailer go from a serious, somber beginning to a chaotically fun time in the rest of what it’s selling.
Well, Tripwire’s State of Play reveal of Maneater 2 does just that, showcasing Neptune’s Park, an underwater theme park that’s slated to become your new hunting ground and a stage for any spectacular stunts you can pull off between chomps. Of course, getting there needs you to put in the work, and you’re going to have to engage with an ecosystem that isn’t going to make things easy. Hostile whales, piranhas, and more await you in the depths, but a combat system that gives you access to some really cool moves is going to help you take them on and come out on top. Or at least as far up as your gills allow you to go.
If that sounds familiar to you, you probably enjoyed the first game, which we found quite enjoyable, and we’re happy that the second one isn’t rocking the boat too much, even though it’s clearly expanding on everything that we loved about its predecessor. The trailer’s below if you want a closer look at what we mean. Bonus points if you find yourself humming “Baby Shark” while you do.
