mario + rabbids sparks of hope

After leaks emerged on Ubisoft’s online stores, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope received a brand new trailer in the recent Nintendo Direct Mini. Along with showcasing new gameplay for the turn-based title, it also confirmed a release on October 20th for Nintendo Switch.

The trailer focused primarily on combat. Instead of moving in a grid-based fashion, combatants have free movement on the field and can dash into enemies. For instance, Mario can slide into a Bomb-omb, stun it, and then chuck it at other enemies to blow them up. Also, as the leaked screenshots revealed, Bowser is joining the team and wields a sick rocket launcher.

Pre-orders for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope begin today. If this little slice of gameplay wasn’t enough, then tune in tomorrow for a special showcase on Ubisoft’s YouTube and Twitch channels at 9 AM PT for more details. Stay tuned in the meantime for updates.
