Marvel Rivals

While Marvel Rivals has amassed more than 40 million players within a few months of launch, impressions on PC have been mixed lately due to optimization issues. The development team has released updates to address this, but in Season 3.5, it has rebuilt the shader system from the ground up.

Creative director Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen revealed that instead of waiting for shaders to load before playing, they’ll load while in the lobby. This means less waiting and a “lot less” memory usage. Of course, we’ll need to try it out firsthand, but it sounds promising.

Other notable improvements coming in Season 3.5 include automatic screening of all voice chat to reduce toxicity, a custom filter for text chat, increased leaver penalties and longer bans during Competitive Play. Furthermore, those who stick it in matches with a leaver will receive some point compensation.

Stay tuned for more details on Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, which adds Blade as a new Duelist and various new Team-Ups.
