Updates for Marvel’s Avengers have almost completely dried up in recent weeks and months, and since the underwhelming PlayStation-exclusive addition of Spider-Man late last year, the game hasn’t received any notable content drops. Earlier this year, developer Crystal Dynamics said it wasn’t yet ready to reveal what its plans for the game’s future were, but it seems the time has come to change that.

In a blog update published on the game’s official website, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Jane Foster’s The Mighty Thor will be the next playable hero to be added to Marvel’s Avengers. Unlike Spider-Man, she won’t be exclusive to any platform.

According to the developers, since Jane Foster, too, uses Mjolnir in combat, she will have plenty in common with Thor where her abilities are concerned, though Crystal Dynamics assures “she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane.”

Meanwhile, update 2.4 will be arriving for the game next month, and will bring improvements and tweaks to in-game events.

More details on Jane Foster and when she’ll be added to the game’s roster will be revealed later. Marvel’s Avengers is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
