Marvel's Midnight Suns

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been rated by the Australian Classification Board. Firaxis’ turn-based tactical RPG was provided a “Mature” classification yesterday, which could indicate a release date announcement soon. Originally slated for launch this past March, it was delayed to the second half of 2022 to make it “the best game possible.”

Based on ratings for other games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, Marvel’s Midnight Suns could launch in the next two to four months. The rating indicates “Mature themes and supernatural violence” along with “in-game purchases.” The latter lines up with Firaxis claiming that microtransactions would be cosmetic-only and not have any impact on the gameplay.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch at launch. Unlike the XCOM series, it doesn’t have permadeath – the campaign is a traditional experience and won’t have branching paths either. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime and check out its last gameplay trailer here.
