Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West is currently slated to release on February 18th 2022 and seems to be on track. It was recently rated by the Australian Classification board, as discovered by Gematsu on Twitter. This seems to indicate that it’s sticking to its current date and that another delay is unlikely (not impossible but still).

Set after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn, the story sees Aloy venturing to the titular Forbidden West due to a mysterious plague that’s spreading through the world, destroying wildlife and vegetation. While exploring the region, she must deal with new Machines  (with several having new abilities), new hostile tribes and dangers like super storms. Fortunately, she’ll have several new abilities and gear to even the odds.

On top of this are different Settlements like Chainscrape that Aloy can visit to craft and upgrade her gear, interact with the different tribes and take on missions for different rewards. Horizon Forbidden West is slated to release for PS4 and PS5 – stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
