The recent State of Play was focused on indies and third-party titles, but that didn’t stop Insomniac Games from dropping some fresh new gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Check out the roughly four-minute-long trailer below.

The sequel’s version of New York is twice as big as previous games, and as players explore, they’ll unlock new content and stories. However, these are now represented as visual cues, whether it’s a drone flying by or Hunter Cloak Blinds granting information on Kraven. Insomniac also teased Marvel villains that haven’t been seen in the universe.

There’s new AR tech to help track activities yet to be discovered, while the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man App tracks requests from individuals. Some can be completed with either Peter or Miles, but others require a specific hero. A new District Progress system tracks your progress and unlocks new rewards.

If that weren’t enough, there’s a new suit system and plenty of additional suits to unlock. There are over 200 ways to outfit Spider-Man via the new Suit Tech system.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20th for PS5. Stay tuned for more details, with impressions going live on September 15th.
