CORTEZ’S DEATH (MASS EFFECT 3)

Remember Steve Cortez? No? Well, we don’t blame you. He was one of the Normandy’s crew members in Mass Effect 3, and unless you’ve played the game recently (or multiple times), there’s a solid chance you might not remember he even existed. Clearly, he made a much stronger impression on Shepard and his companions, because his death elicited hilariously disproportionate overreactions in most characters (Ashley in particular). Funnily enough, Cortez only dies if you don’t spend enough time with him throughout the game, which means that if he does die, you’ve probably had no chance to form any attachment to the character, which, in turn, makes the reactions to his death seem that much more bizarre.
