Portugese site Scubtrovers recently spoke to sources at GameStop which confirmed that EA will be showcasing its new Mass Effect title at its media briefing on June 9th. The game has been known to include a subtitle rather than being called Mass Effect 4 and it seems the game’s full name will be Mass Effect: Origins.

It won’t be a prequel though – rather, Origins will start a brand new trilogy in the universe. This seems to fit in with the aftermath of Mass Effect 3 and the absence of Shepard. The name is kind of funny when you consider that Bioware another title with the name “Origins”, namely Dragon Age: Origins. Does that mean we’ll have more than one origins story to explore?

Again, you can take this news with copious amounts of salt until the actual announcement is made. What are your thoughts on the same? Let us know in the comments. On a related note, Mass Effect 4 has been said to be ambitious and beautiful. You can read that story here.
