Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer Tech Test Deemed Unnecessary – Bioware

Bioware apparently tested and balanced multiplayer already.

Bioware raised quite a few eyebrows today when it announced that the multiplayer tech test for Mass Effect: Andromeda wouldn’t be happening prior to launch. The developer was accepting sign-ups prior to this and promised more information by January 2017 end. Instead, it will be heading to PAX East and allowing attendees to try it there.

When asked by PC Gamer why the tech test was cancelled, Bioware simply noted that, “Our team worked extremely hard building, testing, and balancing multiplayer, and we ultimately determined that a tech test would not be necessary.”

It’s interesting because issues like net-code, connections to other players, server load and much more are usually better tested in betas and the like. Even Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer had a demo prior to launch.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is out on March 21st for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Bioware has promised to share more information about multiplayer in the coming weeks so stay tuned for further details.
