Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Might Eventually Add Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer

"I would never say no to that," says project director Mac Walters.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition (4)

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is finally here, and it seems that BioWare have gone out of their way to make sure that it lives up to its name. With multiple improvements and tweaks big and small, it improves upon the original trilogy in several ways, while it also packages almost all content released for the original trilogy into a single package. That includes over 40 DLC across three games- but there are some things that have been left out, of course.

One of those is Mass Effect 3’s co-op multiplayer (because of which Legendary Edition also changes how the Galactic Readiness system works now), but don’t be too disappointed- there’s a chance that it eventually makes it into the remastered collection as well.

Speaking in an interview with CNET, project director Mac Walters said that BioWare will judge the reception to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, see what the demand is for Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, and then decide accordingly if they want to invest the time and resources what will be required for bringing it over into Legendary Edition.

“I would never say no to that,” Walters said. “We want to see what kind of reception the Legendary Edition gets and what the demand for the multiplayer is. And then we’ll ask ourselves if we have the resources and time to bring it up to the quality level we and fans want.”

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
