Through an update to the Steam store listing for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has revealed the minimum and recommended specs for its PC release. Going by the listing, the title seems to be quite scalable when it comes to required hardware. However, it still does need relatively modern PC specs to run.

The bare minimum needed to run Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on PC is either an Intel i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super with 8 GB of VRAM, and 16 GB of RAM. Notably, Konami also recommends an SSD for the game’s installation.

On the recommended side of things, an Intel i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU are seemingly enough to run the game at higher resolutions and better frame rates. Konami has not revealed what resolutions and frame rates these specs will be targeting, however.

The PC specs announcement comes shortly after Konami released a trailer officially announcing the August 28 release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Interestingly, the trailer was originally leaked earlier this month, and gave us a look at some of the game’s various locations, bosses, and characters.

The trailer also revealed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater would feature the Snake vs Monkey game mode from the original PS2 release of Snake Eater. The mode will task Naked Snake with hunting down and recovering escaped monkeys from the Ape Escape franchise.

We also got to see quite a bit more of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater thanks to some screenshots that were released earlier this month. The screenshots showed off not only Snake vs Monkey, but also some of the locations from the game, as well as the new UI that players will make use of in order to change their camouflage.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a ground-up remake of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The remake will feature the same voice cast as the original, and will provide players with a host of quality-of-life features like an improved over-the-shoulder camera and a more modern control system.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is currently in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There are also rumours that the title might be making its way on to the Nintendo Switch 2.

A Collector’s Edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was unveiled all the way back in June 2024. Along with the game itself, the Collector’s Edition will include quite a few goodies, including a HALO jump patch, a FOX patch, a terrarium diorama, a metal case for the game, Snake’s ID card lanyard, and a fancy collector’s box to keep everything in.
