Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is officially two weeks off launch (12 days for Deluxe Edition owners), but its online multiplayer mode, Fox Hunt, won’t be out until this Fall. As intriguing as the Prop Hunt-style mode appears, it won’t support cross-platform play.

This was confirmed in a recent tweet by the series’ official Twitter. It’s unknown whether Konami plans to add this sometime down the line, but considering the sheer number of multiplayer titles launching with cross-play nowadays, it’s certainly a surprising decision.

As a replacement for Metal Gear Online, Fox Hunt tasks players with hiding from their opponents, using camouflage to blend in various environments from the base game. You can transform into a pile of rocks, sneak under the signature cardboard boxes, and much more. Konami has yet to dive into everything the mode has to offer, so stay tuned for more details.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, meanwhile, launches on August 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for everything you should know before picking it up.
