Open World:
Kojima always wanted to make an open world MGS game and with the Fox Engine, this is now a reality. Ground Zero will be an open world game and it will be interesting to see all the new stealth mechanics that Kojima has been cooking. Open world stealth game will require a lot of effort to pull off but it’s something that Kojima is capable off considering it’s always been his intention to create something like that. Metal Gear Solid 3 may not have been an open world game but it surely had a lot of open-ended gameplay mechanics.
Gameplay variations:
Night gameplay has been confirmed according to the people who saw the tech demo at the event in Japan, along with weather changes like rain. This brings a new dynamism to the gameplay and considering the visuals look amazing, it will provide some of the most satisfying stealth gameplay ever. Imagine if Kojima uses all this to enhance the stealth mechanics, you can be pretty sure that he will do this considering the type of game designer he is. The level shown at the event was so massive in scale that Snake had to call a helicopter to go to point A to point B. I, for one, can’t wait to play this game and experience all these weather changes. Next-gen tech sure seems amazing, doesn’t it?
Next-Generation visuals:
After having seen the first in-game image released by Konami, it’s cvisuals that the visuals will be spectacular. But the people who saw the demo at the event were stunned with the visuals, spouting superlatives when it comes to visual prowess. That’s one of the things that really stood out from the event, and hopefully at PAX, Konami will release the gameplay video or at least a trailer for the whole world to see. MGS4 looked pretty good when it comes to the general art design, and the way everything was meticulously designed, and when backed by proper tech–in this case, Fox Engine, people are in stored for some amazing sensory overload.
