Atlus recently announced that Metaphor: ReFantazio, the next big role-playing game from Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino, would receive a showcase on April 22nd, 3 PM PT. In a separate tweet (translated from DeepL), Studio Zero revealed that it will run for 30 minutes, with the developer sharing “the appeal of this title with the world.”

Metaphor: ReFantazio launches this Fall for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC (with a rumored Nintendo Switch 2 version also in the works). It’s set in the Kingdom of Euchronia following the assassination of its king. The player enters a race to become the next ruler, traveling the world and garnering support to stake their claim.

Though there are Archetypes akin to traditional RPG classes, Metaphor: ReFantazio allows players to slay low-level enemies on the field. Stronger foes still require fighting in turn-based combat, but you gain the advantage when striking first. The title is available to wishlist now on the PlayStation and Xbox Stores – perhaps the showcase will narrow the release window further. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
