The game continues to look appropriately bleak and gorgeous.

Metro Exodus

Metro: Exodus launches soon now, and a new gameplay video for the game, from IGN, shows us what we can expect from the game’s more open (but not open world!) take on the post apocalypse when it releases next month. The video includes 10 minutes of gameplay footage, and we get to see some encounters, the game’s fantastic and appropriately atmospheric world, and some struggling with its mechanics and controls.

The game appropriately sells the atmosphere, as mentioned above, which of course was never in doubt. The one thing that all games in the series have been exceptional at is instilling the sense of dread and bleak desolation via how they present their ruined worlds, and Exodus looks to be the starkest realization of that vision so far.

The good news is, you won’t have to wait long for the game, since it’s due out on February 15, a week earlier than it was supposed to be. If you’re excited for the game, make sure to check out the newest video for it, which promises a deep dive into its development.
