After recently seeing quite a bit of success by bringing its first-party titles to the PS5, Xbox is now rumoured to also be working on bringing over Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to Sony’s platform. According to Polish publication PPE, the PS5 release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is slated to happen some time in November. The title is also expected to get a physical release on PS5.

The report also notes that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is also slated to get a physical release on PS5. However, Microsoft has reportedly decided to delay opening up pre-orders for the game. The publication notes that retailers already have physical copies of Oblivion Remastered ready to sell, which means that Microsoft’s official announcement of the release should only be a matter of days or weeks.

The last time we had heard about Xbox wanting to bring Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to the PS5 was from a report all the way back in January this year, where it, along with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, were rumoured to be coming to Sony’s console as well as the Nintendo Switch 2.

Since then, however, Microsoft has been quite proactive in bringing its first-party releases to the PS5, with the most recent ones being Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. All of these releases have been massive successes for Microsoft, with the latter two even topping PS5 sales charts from April to July.

Forza Horizon 5 was a noteworthy release, since developer Turn 10 Studios indicated that the first month of its PS5 launch saw 2 million sales. This information came about thanks to game designer Harrison B., who noted on their LinkedIn profile that they “Created cross-platform feature designs enabling Forza Horizon (PS5, 2025) to sell 2 million units in one month on PS5 alone.”

Even going by a smaller scale, Forza Horizon 5 managed to become the quickest selling Xbox game on the PS5 so far, outpacing both Sea of Thieves as well as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. According to a report from back in May, the racing title sold 1.4 million copies on PS5 in its first week. For context, you can compare this to Sea of Thieves which sold 657,300 copies in its first eight days, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which sold 132,900 copies in its first week.

Interestingly, since the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5 offered players advanced access on the PS5, this means that 702,400 players had seemingly spent $100 on the racing game. This level of popularity can be attributed to the lack of AAA racing games on PS5, aside from Gran Turismo 7.
