Microsoft Has “A Lot of Surpises Planned” For X019

"We have a lot of content coming both from Xbox Game Studios, as well as third-party partners," says Xbox Games Marketing General Manager Aaron Greenberg.

Microsoft announced during their Gamescom Inside Xbox show that they’re bringing back X0 once again this year, and moving from last year’s Mexico City-located to show to London in November this year. Billed as the year’s biggest fan-event for all things Xbox, X019 can be an exciting occasion (if you manage your expectations, that is)- so what exactly can we expect to see at the show this year?

Speaking with Twinfinite, Aaron Greenberg, the Xbox Games Marketing General Manager, said that Microsoft has got “a lot of surprises planned” for the show, and that it’s going to include games and announcements from both, Xbox Game Studios, as well as third parties. Additionally, Greenberg also confirmed that there’s going to be new announcements for completely new games as well.

“We do an Inside Xbox Show, we do a live show,” said Greenberg. “It is our biggest Inside Xbox show of the year. We have a lot of surprises planned. We have a lot of content coming both from Xbox Game Studios, as well as third-party partners.”

“We have some surprises planned, I’ll just leave it at that,” he re-iterated later. “But yeah, I think that we’ll have a great show.”

Last year’s X018 event was very Game Pass-centric, and we can probably expect the same at X019, especially with Xbox Game Pass being available on PC as well. As far as what new announcements we’re going to see, that remains anyone’s best guess, but it’s unlikely we’ll see any major new first party releases being unveiled.

As for updates- maybe we’ll get to see more of the likes of Battletoads and Bleeding Edge? That definitely seems likely. How about an update on Halo Infinite? That seems a lot less likely- but keep your fingers crossed. Either way, we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way, so stay tuned.
