Microsoft Investigating User Problems With Xbox One Chat Adapter

Meanwhile, you can always use Skype.

Microsoft have been working on bringing the Xbox One up to scratch as far as feature parity goes, with two new massive updates recently (including one that added a slew of social features), the addition of Twitch.tv to the system, and a new firmware that allows users to use the chat adaptor of their choice. However, there appear to be problems with that last one- apparently, users are reporting issues with legacy models of chat adaptors, Game Informer reports.

“We’ve heard about a small number of users experiencing intermittent issues,” a Microsoft representative said. “We’re actively investigating and are working on a resolution.”

For now, if you need to chat, Skype seems to be completely unaffected, so you can use that as a temporary fix (this also suggests that the issue is with the controller firmware, not the console itself). Hopefully, the problem is resolved soon so users can continue screaming obscenities at each other in online Call of Duty games.
