Microsoft Korea Cannot Advertise Xbox One X Due To Lack of Budget – Report

Localization issues also continue to persist.

The Xbox One X has been quite well received ever since its launch in November of 2017, and it has helped with the system’s sales as well, but the hardware upgrade doesn’t seem to be doing too well in Korea. As per a report by Korean site Gameple, the Xbox One X is facing several issues in the Korean market.

The chief among these issues seems to be the fact that Microsoft have been unable to advertise the Xbox One X properly (or much at all). This, as per the report, is because Microsoft Korea apparently don’t have enough of a budget for that. Lack of advertising is obviously a major blunder, and it doesn’t even need to be said that it can have a very detrimental impact on a product’s sales.

Another issue that the report cites is the fact that there aren’t many games released for the Xbox One that are localized for the Korean audiences. While the Korean market has relatively more localized games to play on the PS4, the options on the Xbox One are a lot more scarce, and as such, people seem to be less keen on the system.
