Announces that "some new" Bethesda titles will be exclusive to Xbox and PC.

Bethesda Xbox

In a new Xbox Wire post, Microsoft has officially confirmed its acquisition of Bethesda Softworks and welcomed its various teams to the Xbox brand. Along with re-affirming that Bethesda will continue “making games the way it always has,” Microsoft says that Xbox Game Pass will be “the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.” This is pretty much the first official confirmation of Bethesda titles being console-exclusive, though which ones remains to be seen.

To celebrate the acquisition though, additional Bethesda titles will be added to Xbox Game Pass. These will be coming later in the week with more details to follow. Perhaps we’ll see The Evil Within titles or the Dishonored series being added to the service. Maybe we’ll see Prey making a return, or the arrival of Prey: Mooncrash.

Microsoft’s announcement follows rumors of an event on March 11th where it would reportedly discuss the acquisition of Bethesda. Xbox UK’s Samuel Bateman stated that Thursday’s stream has nothing to do with Bethesda, and this official post seemingly confirms that. Now we’ll just have to wait for more details on which titles will be Xbox-exclusive.
