Scalebound

The new year started off in quite a disappointing fashion when Platinum Games’ Scalebound was delayed to 2017. The reasons for quite simple – more polish was necessary – but it was still a bummer. How does Microsoft feel about the delay, several weeks old though it may be at this point?

Speaking to IGN, Microsoft marketing manager Aaron Greenberg talked about Scalebound‘s delay helping it to be a “better success” on release. “As we’re looking at the lineup for this year, and where [developer Platinum Games] are [with Scalebound]–what their aspirations are; that game is super-aspirational…we want to be able to give them enough time and resources to do that.

“So strategically, give it time to breathe; let’s make sure we can give it enough space. First and foremost, always make sure the game is great.”

Scalebound is currently scheduled to come out in early 2017 for Xbox One so stay tuned in the coming year for more updates.
