The game that invented “blast processing” and gave Mario nightmares with blazing fast frame rate, colourfully detailed environments and amazing animations, Sonic the Hedgehog was a star the minute he debuted. Each stage had multiple routes which the player could take, along with secrets to explore. The enemies were fantastically designed, especially each of Dr. Robotnik’s inventions, but they paled in comparison to the stellar design that was Sonic himself.
